Widgie: Widgets & Themes · Workaholic Developers · Last updated: 2026-10-11
Widgie makes home-screen and lock-screen widgets. It works on your phone. There is no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind.
What stays on your phone
Everything you create in Widgie stays on your device: your widget designs, family dates, to-do lists, habits, the photos you choose for widgets, and your settings. The app keeps them in its own storage, which is shared only with Widgie's own widgets (an App Group on iPhone). We never receive a copy. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
Permissions (all optional)
| Permission | When Widgie asks | What it is used for |
|---|---|---|
| Photos you pick | When you choose photos for a widget | The system photo picker gives Widgie only the photos you select; Widgie keeps a smaller copy for the widget. No library access is needed. |
| Photo library (read) | Only if you turn on the "On this day" photo widget | To find photos taken on this date in earlier years. The search happens on your phone; small copies of up to three photos a day are kept for the widget. |
| Add to photo library | When you save a wallpaper | To save the wallpaper image. On iPhone this is add-only: Widgie cannot see your photos. |
| Calendar (read) | Only if you turn on events in a calendar widget | To show your upcoming events in the widget. Widgie never changes, copies off the phone, or uploads your events. |
You can change these at any time in your phone's Settings. Widgie never asks for your location: you choose a city for sunrise, panchang and festivals.
Network requests
Widgie works offline. It makes only these requests, none of which include anything about you:
- Festival dates: about once a day the app checks
https://widgie.wdlab.app/data/festivals.jsonfor corrected festival dates. These requests are not logged: the server keeps no record of your IP address or anything else when the app checks. - Weather (off by default): if you turn on weather widgets, the app and its widgets ask Open-Meteo (
api.open-meteo.com) for the forecast at your chosen city's coordinates (never your device's location). Open-Meteo's own privacy policy applies to that request. - Links you tap (our website, other studio apps, email) open in your browser or mail app.
What we collect
Nothing. We do not collect, store, sell or share personal data. We do not use cookies, advertising IDs, crash reporters or analytics SDKs.
Our website
When you visit pages on widgie.wdlab.app in a browser, the web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser name) for up to 14 days to keep the site secure, then deletes them. The app's festival check above is not logged.
Children
Widgie is suitable for everyone and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
